Comments: I travelled to Istanbul Bariatric Centre in October 2018. Having done lots of research prior to making my final decision. I chose Dr Murat Ustun to perform my gastric sleeve after reading lots of reviews but also looking at his medical history as well as his qualifications.

I was nervous about flying out to Istanbul on my own. But as soon as I arrived I was made to feel at ease and knew then I had made the right choice for me. I stayed in a hotel the night prior to surgery which was included in my package.

The following morning I was collected and taken to the hospital where I was greeted by the lovely Demet one of Dr Murat’s assistants. She helped me fill in my forms and showed me to my room.

My hospital room was spotless and super clean. I had my own private bathroom and tv. I met with Dr Murat prior to surgery we discussed again why I wanted to have my surgery. He explained about all my tests which would be carried out prior to having my surgery that afternoon. My tests included ECG, chest X-ray, full blood, ultrasound and endoscopy. Again all the tests were included in my package.

I also met my two nurses who were wonderful and helped me settle in my room and I also met my anaesthetist who was lovely and really reassuring. I spent 3 days and nights in the hospital and was looked after very well by everyone.

Upon discharge, I was taken another hotel to rest for a further 3 days before flying home. I decided to go off sightseeing which was organised by one of Dr Murat’s assistants. I had 2 wonderful days sightseeing such a beautiful place. I came home with all my discharge notes and also medication to be taken for 10 days after surgery.

I feel the care and attention is second to none. I have no hesitation in recommending Dr Murat Ustun to anyone seeking to have surgery done in Istanbul.
