Comments: I came out to Istanbul for a RnY revision due to issues with loss of satiation although I was still only able to consume limited portion sizes, vomiting after meals, loose stools and abdominal pain after most meals.

My previous surgery was 14 years ago and I had successfully lost 17.5stone, with weight regain of five and a half stone. Of which I had managed to lose two stone through intense daily exercise and restrictive calorie intake.

But all of the other symptoms were still there. After talking to Dr Murat, he knew instantly what my problem was and discussed a candy cane resection, a reduction of the gastric pouch and possible bypass of further bowel.

Within four weeks from initial communication, of which was thorough, with long phone calls with the surgeon himself and instant answers 24 hours a day to any questions I may have had. I was out in Istanbul and having my preoperative assessments on the morning of the surgery.

I was able to arrange my own hotels with the view of a holiday as well as surgery. Although the hotel included in the package was sufficient I wanted luxury and booked the Hilton in Bosphorus. The team were not phased by this and just adapted transfers etc.
The hotel was clean, the rooms were very large and allowed for recovery in peace and pleasant surroundings.

The staff at the hospital do have limited English, so I would recommend a translator on google on your phone which worked for myself a number of times.

The whole procedure was smoothly run, Dr Murat was wonderful, explaining everything clearly and his English is great, this allowed for any queries to be resolved quickly. His team are friendly and professional and have been there every step of the way.

The costing was simple and taken care of without fuss or error.
My actual procedure turned out to be more complicated than expected due to a giant hernia they found on the day, Dr Murat dealt with this with skill and amended the procedure as required, no extra charges etc. Just very precise surgery. I personally work in the medical field myself and I can give nothing but praise for the treatment I was given. My surgical site after four days is perfect. I am up and about and now staying in a wonderful hotel called George's which I'd advise for sightseeing with reduced walking. Very romantic and a treat for my husband after he slept in the room with me at the hospital for three nights on a sofa bed.

I'd definitely advise the services of Dr Murat and his team any day of the week, I feel like my problems have been recognised and approached after many years of eating like a mouse and still gaining weight, whilst having life-altering side effects.
